Famous Adoptee – Former President Bill Clinton

Famous adoptee Bill ClintonBill Clinton is only the second United States President who has been adopted. The only previous President who was adopted was Gerald Ford. Clinton was the forty-second president of the United States, and was born William Jefferson Blythe, on August 19, 1946, in Hope, Arkansas. His father, William Blythe, died in an auto accident three months before he was born. He was adopted by his stepfather, Roger Clinton.

National Adoption Week was further extended by former President Clinton who declared adoption awareness deserved to be observed for an entire month.

About adoption, Clinton stated: “We must work tirelessly to make sure that every boy and girl in America who is up for adoption has a family waiting to reach him or her. This is a season of miracles, and perhaps there is no greater miracle than finding a loving home for a child who needs one.”
