People magazine recently reported that actress Katherine Heigl has been spotted out with her mother Nancy and her adopted daughter Adalaide in Beverly Hills. Heigl and her husband, musician Josh Kelley, recently adopted the baby girl through domestic adoption. Heigl and her husband have another daughter whom they welcomed to their family through adoption as well, Naleigh, three and a half years old.

In 1996 at age 50, she adopted daughter Dexter, followed by son Duke, in 2001. The famous actress, has shared that “Motherhood was not an urge I couldn’t resist,” Keaton has said, “it was more like a thought I’d been thinking for a very long time. I do feel now that the love of my children is all-encompassing.”
Jillian Michaels, celebrity personal trainer and former Biggest Loser trainer, began the process to adopt from the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2010. She has been matched with a little girl, and her future daughter awaits the day they are reunited — in Haiti.
Michaels shares “I went over to visit orphanages and I ended up falling in love with this little girl, and by the grace of God, I got matched up with her.”
While Michaels is ecstatic that her dream of motherhood will soon be a reality, she does realize it may be still too soon to celebrate. “I now have to get her home … it could take up to a year to get her home,” she says. ”Anything can happen and fall through or fall apart, so it’s kind of premature for me to say it, but that’s where it’s at.”
Should the adoption go awry, Michaels warns, “You’ll know why I’m devastated and not coming out of my house for months.”

Bill Clinton is only the second United States President who has been adopted. The only previous President who was adopted was Gerald Ford. Clinton was the forty-second president of the United States, and was born William Jefferson Blythe, on August 19, 1946, in Hope, Arkansas. His father, William Blythe, died in an auto accident three months before he was born. He was adopted by his stepfather, Roger Clinton.
National Adoption Week was further extended by former President Clinton who declared adoption awareness deserved to be observed for an entire month.
About adoption, Clinton stated: “We must work tirelessly to make sure that every boy and girl in America who is up for adoption has a family waiting to reach him or her. This is a season of miracles, and perhaps there is no greater miracle than finding a loving home for a child who needs one.”
